	#09 -Name: SPRITE POSSUM -Scientific name: Ektopodontid -Period: Early Miocene (23-20 million years ago) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A relative of modern brushtailed possums and cuscuses, the Sprite Possum lived in the lush rainforests of northern Queensland where it fed on the seeds and fruits of rainforest trees. A nocturnal animal, its huge eyes would have given it excellent night vision. The Sprite Possum had very unusual teeth, each one shaped like two tiny accordians side by side.
