The Giant Goanna was a huge reptile that grew five to seven meters in length - twice as long as today's largest lizard, the closely related Komodo Dragon of Indonesia. A fierce predator, the Giant Goanna had powerful claws and sharp teeth. It would have used its excellent sense of smell to find its prey, which probably included many Australia's giant marsupials.
