	#20 -Name: GIANT RINGTAIL POSSUM -Scientific name: Pseudokoala cathysantamaria -Period: Late Pleistocene (1 million- 10,000 years ago) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Giant Ringtail Possum certainly lived up to its name. Weighing as much as 10kg, it was far larger than any of today's ringtail possum. It probably ate flowers and leaves, perhaps even gum leaves. It would have lived most of its life in the trees, using its strong prehensile tail to grip branches.
