	#30 -Name: EDMONTONIA -Scientific name: Edmontonia longiceps -Period: Cretaceous (146-65 million years ago) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edmontonia was discovered in Alberta, Canada. A plant-eating dinosaur about 7m in length, it belonged to a group of armoured dinosaurs known as ankylosaurs. These animals were covered in thick bony plates and spikes, giving them excellent protection from predators. Edmontonia also had long, powerful legs and was probably able to outrun many attackers.
