12- Name: Hawaiian 'O'o Scientific Name: Moho nobilis
This spectacular bird was found in the tropical forest of Hawaii. In the 19th century hunters killed thousands of these birds for their beautiful feathers. The pressure from hunting, combined with habitat loss and disease pushed the bird to extinction. The last one was seen in 1934.
