The Thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger, looked like a dog but was related to kangaroos. It hunted wallabies and other animals tiring out its prey in long, steady chases. Farmers blamed Thylacines for losses of their sheep, and large numbers were killed. The last Thylacine died in Hobart zoo in 1936.
