	07- Name: Huia Scientific Name: Heteralocha acutirostris The crow-sized Huia was a weak flier and would explore the forest floor for insects, spiders and berries. The male had a short, straight beak and the female had a slender, curved one. Hunted for its feathers, the Huia became extinct in 1907.
