The White-footed Rabbit-Rat was a beautiful rodent found in the woodlands of south-eastern Australia. About the size of a kitten, it lived in leaf-lined nests in tree hollows. From about 1800 this animal started to vanish, probably because of disease and hunting by cats. The last one was seen in 1895.
